How I turn your home into a bespoke watercolour portrait

My bespoke watercolour house portraits are designed to capture the character and warmth of your home in a timeless piece of art. Each building portrait is hand-painted to order, making it a thoughtful gift or keepsake - perfect for housewarmings, weddings, or just marking a special place filled with memories.

My process

  1. Chat & Plan

Every house portrait begins with a friendly chat where I’ll ask you to share some reference photos. We’ll discuss the composition, size, and any details that matter most - perhaps your favourite view of the house, a climbing rose by the door, or even a particular season you’d like captured.

  2. Sketch

Once we’ve settled on the design, I’ll create a sketch outline to map out the composition. If we’re working with a more detailed or unusual perspective, I’ll send this over for your approval before painting begins.

  3. Paint

Using professional watercolours, I build the portrait layer by layer to bring your home to life. Each piece is painted on archival-quality pressed watercolour paper for lasting quality.

  4. Finishing Touches
Time to sign your portrait and decide if you’d like any framing or mounting services to make your piece display ready.

How much does a hand-painted House portrait cost?

Prices depend on the size and level of detail you’d like. Smaller portraits start from £200, perfect for a simple home view or small gift. Larger or more detailed commissions - such as homes with complex architecture, gardens, or additional personal touches - are all priced individually.

Each portrait is a true piece of art, and you can also add a frame if you’d like it ready to hang, display or gift.

Why choose a custom house portrait?

A personalised house portrait makes a perfect gift for:

  • A moving-in present for a first home

  • A housewarming gift for a dream home

  • A unique wedding gift for newlyweds beginning life together

  • An anniversary or birthday keepsake for the person who has everything

  • A memory piece of a childhood or family home

As well as homes, I also paint wedding venues, or other meaningful locations.
